A look inside....

For all those who have not yet seen the wonders of The Slaughterblouse...

Situated in the heart of the Beaufort Street shopping precinct, this majestic turn of the century house has been converted into a a boutique haven for female fashion. Spread over 170m2....., this multi-room boutique combines the lofty industrial atmosphere of a concrete showroom, with the warmth and sophistication of period French antiques.

The store walls are adorned with giant steel pipes which display a wide range of collections sourced from both national and international locations . Avant-garde designers from around the world, meet here to form what is the most eclectic mix of labels on the strip.

... and a dismantled lamp shade!

More gloves...! why not.

Always look at the furniture, more often than not drawers are filled with more designer goodies! Old furniture relics are known to house the odd Jerome Dreyfuss handbag, or the latest offerings from Nathan Smith can usually be found amidst a stack of wooden crates.
If you're the type to open the medicine cabinet in someone else's house.. then this is the place for you. Opening draws and boxes is encouraged.

back to black and white... The Gallery.

The Slaughterblouse is also home to a gallery space, which runs exhibitions twice a year. Most recently, sisters Chloe and Skye Sobejko hosted their photography exhibition, 'Barefoot Drumming Wonder'. Here are a few shots...

An installation which was part of the exhibition.

A set of 3, entitled 'Death Will Tremble to Take Us'

That's it for the photos.... Above is a press shot of Tiah Eckhardt, used for The Slaughterblouse (photo by Justin Smith). Below... that's just some water feature fun.
